Dry Cleaning Prices in Gurugram: What Affects the Cost

By the Dhulai team · 17 Oct 2026

Ask three people what they paid to dry clean a blazer and you will get three different answers. That is because a dry cleaning price in Gurugram is not one number: it depends on the garment, the fabric, the lining, the stains and how the shop prices its work. This guide explains what you are actually paying for, what Dhulai charges, and how to avoid the two or three things that quietly push a bill up.

Dry cleaning prices in Gurugram: what Dhulai charges

Dhulai publishes its rates so you can plan before you hand anything over. These are the confirmed starting points across our services.

ServiceRate
Dry cleaningFrom ₹129 per piece
Wash & fold₹69 per kg
Premium laundry₹175 per kg
Sofa cleaning₹160 per seat
Carpets and mattresses₹55 per sq ft

Curtains are priced per panel of 42-inch width, because that is how curtains are actually made and hung: window curtains under 5 ft are ₹139, window curtains over 5 ft ₹189, door curtains ₹169 and ₹239 with lining, and heavy or blackout curtains ₹329. You can see the full list on our prices page.

Why the same garment can cost different amounts

Dry cleaning is a per-piece service for a reason. Every item is inspected, tagged and treated on its own, and the handling a garment needs is what sets its rate. Five things make the biggest difference.

1. The fabric

A cotton or polyester shirt behaves predictably. Silk, wool, linen, velvet, chiffon and georgette do not. They react to solvent, heat and pressure differently, so they need gentler cycles, lower press temperatures and more hand finishing. That time is what you are paying for. Our wet cleaning vs dry cleaning guide explains how the right method gets chosen for a fabric.

2. How the garment is built

An unlined kurta is one layer. A blazer has a lining, canvas, shoulder padding and a collar that all have to come out of the process the same shape they went in. Pleats, structured shoulders, long gowns and anything with a bodice take longer to press and finish than a flat shirt.

3. Embellishment

Zari, sequins, beadwork, mirror work and delicate lace usually need to be protected or worked around by hand. A heavily worked lehenga or a sherwani is a different job from a plain one, even in the same fabric.

4. Size and surface area

This is why some things are not priced per piece at all. A carpet, a mattress or a sofa is charged by area or by seat because a three-seater and a seven-seater are not the same amount of work. Our sofa and upholstery cleaning and carpet and mattress cleaning pages explain how each is measured.

5. Stains and condition

A fresh spill and a six-month-old oil mark are two different problems. Older stains have had time to set into the fibre, and some have already been part-treated at home in a way that makes them harder to lift. Every garment at Dhulai is inspected before cleaning and the method is chosen for the fabric and the stain, so you find out what a piece needs before any work starts rather than after.

Tip: When you hand over a stained garment, say what the stain is and roughly how old it is. Knowing it is haldi and not curry, or wine and not juice, genuinely changes which treatment is used first.

Per piece, per kilo or per sq ft: which one you want

The pricing model tells you something about the service. Understanding it is the easiest way to stop overpaying.

  • Per kilo suits everyday volume. T-shirts, trousers, bedsheets, towels and kidswear are sorted and washed together, so wash and fold at ₹69 per kg is the sensible choice. Premium laundry at ₹175 per kg is the same idea with more careful handling and finishing.
  • Per piece suits garments that need individual attention: suits, blazers, sarees, lehengas, sherwanis, woollens, coats and anything delicate. That is what dry cleaning from ₹129 per piece covers.
  • Per sq ft or per seat suits household items, where the cost tracks size rather than count.

Sending a kilo of plain cotton t-shirts for per-piece dry cleaning is the most common way people overspend. Sending a silk saree in with the weekly wash load is the most common way they lose a garment. Sorting your pile into these three buckets before you book is worth more than any discount.

Where the cheapest quote costs more

Price is only one half of value; the other half is whether the garment comes back wearable. A few things to weigh when a quote looks unusually low:

  • Is the garment being inspected, or just processed? One method applied to everything is cheap to run and hard on delicate fabrics.
  • Is the rate card written down? Published per-piece and per-kg rates are easier to check than a number quoted at the counter.
  • Is pickup free? A low per-piece rate plus a collection charge is not a low rate. Dhulai's pickup and delivery are free across Sector 43, 47, 52, 60, 69 and nearby areas.
  • What does re-cleaning cost you? A garment that comes back with the stain still there, or a pressed-in shine on a wool lapel, has cost you the full price twice over.

Replacing a suit, a saree or a set of lined curtains costs many times what cleaning them properly does. That is the comparison that matters, not the gap between two per-piece rates.

Four habits that keep your bill down

  1. Do not scrub a stain at home first. Blot, do not rub, and skip the hot water. Heat and friction set most stains and can damage the weave, which turns a simple clean into a specialist job.
  2. Send things in season, not in a panic. Woollens and festive wear cleaned when you put them away come back easier than the same pieces pulled out stained a week before you need them.
  3. Separate your pile properly. Everyday clothes by weight, special garments by piece.
  4. Check pockets and fastenings. A pen, a lipstick or a loose hook in a pocket can mark or snag a whole load.

Getting a clear price before you book

For anything on the published rate card you already know the number. For a garment you are unsure about, a heavily worked outfit, an old stain, a vintage piece, send a photo on WhatsApp and our team will tell you what it needs. You can also walk into any of our five Gurugram stores in Sector 43, 47, 52, 60 or 69, open Monday to Sunday, 9 AM to 8 PM; addresses are on the locations page.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does dry cleaning cost in Gurugram?

At Dhulai, dry cleaning starts at ₹129 per piece. The exact rate depends on the garment, because a cotton shirt, a lined blazer and a heavily embroidered lehenga need very different handling.

Why is dry cleaning charged per piece and laundry per kilo?

Dry cleaning is priced per piece because each garment is inspected and treated individually. Everyday clothes that can all be washed together are cheaper to handle in bulk, so wash and fold is ₹69 per kg and premium laundry is ₹175 per kg.

Is there a pickup charge for dry cleaning in Gurugram?

No. Pickup and delivery are free across Sector 43, 47, 52, 60, 69 and nearby areas of Gurugram.

Does a stain cost extra to remove?

Dhulai inspects every garment before cleaning and chooses the method for the fabric and the stain. Tell us what the stain is and roughly how old it is, and we will tell you what the garment needs before any work starts.
